What is Sound Healing

Sound Healing combines carefully considered therapeutic sound techniques which have been shown to affect physiology, neurology and spiritually.

This has been very effective at improving health and wellbeing due to its ability to aid a person to ease into a very relaxed state.
Sound therapy techniques combine instruments such as Crystal and Himalayan (metal) singing bowls, gongs, drumming and other percussion instruments to deliver a specific order to maximize the therapeutic process.

With today’s fast paced 24-hour accessible climate, stress and anxiety is on the increase. Therefore, treatments such as Sound Healing help reduce stress and can be a very effective way to prevent and treat illness.

Sound Healer, gong beater, bowl player

Sian Montgomery

It was during a sound healing session that I got the divine guidance to become a sound healer practitioner and once I accepted my calling, everything seemed to fall into place.

I’ve been carrying out sound baths for the last ten years.

I’ve attended a number of sound healing courses that have included gong workshops, Tibetan and crystal bowls workshops, voice work (our first sound healing instrument), shamanic drumming workshops, aura healing workshop along with a number of reiki healing courses.

“The more of us that are awakened to the power of frequency, the faster our world will ascend to a place of peace and unity.”

Cancellation policy
In the instance that you need to cancel your place on a sound healing session, 48 hours notice is required.
Less than 48 hours notice will result in non-refundable fees.
Exceptional circumstances, will be considered.

What you need to know prior to attending a Sound Healing session:

Arrive 10-15 minutes before the session starts to get yourself settled.

Please bring with you a mat, a duvet/thick blanket and a pillow. Go for comfort. Your body temperature does lower during the session. As you don't want to be cold, or to have bed envy of the person next to you.

Wear comfortable clothing.

Sound baths are healing musical performances where participants lay on the floor to allow the healing sound waves to wash over you.
Proponents suggest that sound bathing calms our often-overstimulated nervous systems, and balances the subtle body. (If you’re not familiar with the subtle body: it’s also known as the energetic body, where our life force – Qi, Chi or prana – exists.) Sound bathing is said to work both the physical body and the subtle body to ease some symptoms of anxiety, physical pain, insomnia and to also aid in meditation practices.

What You Need to Know Before You Arrive:

1. Bring your own mat, thick blanket/duvet and pillow.
Personal comfort is a must for the duration of the session.

2. Be open to a personal experience.

Every who attends a sound bath is there for the same reason, to experience, feel and heal.

3. Emotions may arise.
Be open minded. Sound healing works to release trapped emotions deep in the subtle body. It can be a very emotionally, physically and spiritually cleansing experience. .

4. Get ready to...
Not strive. Don’t even listen. That’s right, don’t listen. Just lay quietly and let the sound wash over you, gently and without effort. Chill out.

5. You will feel the sound in your body.
Have you ever been to a concert where the bass is so thumpin’ you feel your bones vibrating to the beat? That’s the power of sound.

6. You might fall asleep.
That’s okay. You will receive the healing even if you sleep through the session. (Just try not to snore!)

7. Ease yourself back into your world.
If you feel any sense of serenity after your sound bath, protect it.

Don’t roll up your mat, hurry to your car, rush home, back into the hustle and bustle of everyday life and noise. Instead, just breathe in your sound bath experience for a little while longer.

I have missed Sian's amazing live soundbaths so much during the past year. They have been a highlight and 'go to' for a while now.
The Sunday nights at Irby are absolutely fantastic, not only that they improve my sleep and pain management. Such a brilliant experience!!
I took a friend this time and he loved it too!

Sian is so lovely and welcoming and I can highly recommend her sound bath and meditation as a healing and soothing experience which left me feeling deeply relaxed and peaceful! I had the best nights sleep afterwards.

I can very highly recommend Sian's Sound Bath and meditation for anyone, particularly people who are stressed or feeling anxious. It's such a beautiful deep relaxation and meditation with a difference! If you struggle to meditate the usual way then definitely try this because all you will be thinking of is the lovely sounds around you and the rippling feeling over your body. You will leave feeling totally relaxed and refreshed
